Not Prince Hamlet

"Full of high sentence, but a bit obtuse."

American Idol's sixth season debuts tonight, and so here is a bit from the Daily Lectionary's reading from Isaiah:

"All who make idols are nothing, and the things they delight in do not profit."

I was interested in a couple of articles/new stories I saw this morning relating to the "Are the Judges Too Cruel" angle. Many of them made the point that it has always been that way. Honestly, that's one of the bigger reasons why I have never been able to watch it.

I always have visions of a panel tearing apart one of my sermons...chuckling as I make the turn into the Old Testament passage...and then telling me that I'm ugly and have no business trying to preach, Dawg.
